Mark has a message

Hi GMR Blog,

I would like to thank the nice couple that I met a few weeks ago on Glendora Ridge Road (GRR) near Baldy Village.  They helped to remind the L'Etape practice riders at their Baldy support tent, to ride on the right side of the road along GRR.

REMINDER TO ALL RIDERS... especially on GRR (some on GMR too), please remember to ride on the right, even when the roads are closed to motor traffic.

Unfortunately, riding on the wrong side of GRR also occurs when the roads are open, cars and motos too, but especially cyclists.  Everyone, please be safe and stay on your side of GRR at all times.

Thank you,
Mark

The sun burst out on Glendora Mountain Road on the first day of the San Dimas Stage Race 2019. The birds in the trees are just as excited as the cyclists below wait for their start times. The 7km stage ascend 1000 feet to challenge those who dare to climb it. It is man versus mountain in what is an intimate personal trial of fitness.

The first lizard of the season at first saddle. The painted lady butterflies were headed north over the range. You know you need more time on the bike when the butterflies flit past faster than your pedaling!

The first ride of daylight savings time! Monday night was cold with wind gusts between 12-14 mph and clods lightly sprinkling. The true hardy cyclists went out. Helmets off to Mark G. Who made it down the mountain. Tuesday was a completely different story. Sunny clear skies gentle breeze a high of 71F.
