The sweat dripped down my face as I pedaled my bicycle up the mountain road. Mid-breath I glanced down at the cycling computer. Encouraged with my power output I pushed harder over the tar filled cracks of the road. The curvy miles straightened to the last steep climb of the ride. I shifted to a lower gear, spun my legs rapidly, shredding the ascent. At the top of Monroe, I stopped to see the top of Mt. Baldy hidden by clouds.
The rain fell as Matt, Bill and I rested at the shed. We bundled up for the descent. The wetness dried out as we road home. We were lucky to get our ride in before the rain started its long gentle patter.
