You motivate me.

East Fork

Matt got out for a morning ride this week and took an East Fork journey. Bill got out a couple of mornings as well. I had an intense work week and caved in on Thursday morning to an indoor stint while watching live coverage of the Tour de France.

Bonus Ride

The bottom gate was closed on Saturday morning while the upper gate was open. A few stray motorists traversed the road. Matt, Bill and I rode out to Glendora Ridge Road (Fork plus four). John met us at Fork plus 3.5. Met Andrew at the shed. He got a smokin' deal on his FDJ jersey.

Road Closed - Bonus Days

Road closed on July 3 @ 10 am. Reopens on July 8th @ 10 am. The LA County Website has the road closed until Monday July 8th.

While gate is closed, access to hikers and bikers is allowed per Larry Brown US Forest Service.

Mishaps do occur even when the road is closed. Be safe. Descend safely. The yellow center is slippery and so is the tar in the cracks.

Catching up with Bill

Bill went out for a ride about 9:30 to wait out the cloud cover. By then it was about 90 degrees and 50% humidity. Emergency vehicles, Sheriff's, CHP, Forest Service, L.A. County Fire, etc. passed him by. Their destination was the big dirt turnout north of mile marker 8.89. Examining a vehicle that was over the side. A forest service person informed Bill it was an "old" accident. On Bill's way down from Newman's all of the emergency units had departed.
