New signage at GMR mile marker 7.

Monday, March 28, 2016

Karma. Fate. El Niño. Three is the word for tonight's ride. Three Monday's in a row with cloudy skies. Cool temperatures. Breezy winds. Three days in a row of riding GMR. Saturday to the shed. Sunday doing micro intervals. Monday pushing a hard gear up the hill. Three times more fun. Perhaps Helle's advice of stretching after each ride is helping.

Monday night ride. And the Angels said unto to me "go forth and ride your bicycle in the beauty of the hills. The air is full of moisture and you shall go fast as you have waited four long months." It was glorious and worth the wait. And it was fast.

Volunteers are needed to help at the race in roles such as Course Marshall.  For information about open volunteer position, see:  http://sdsr.bike/volunteering.html  This is a great opportunity to be a part of a professional caliber bike race.  Strong volunteer support is what makes it possible for us to put on this event.  Everyone’s contribution is valued!  Email our Volunteers Director at Volunteers@sdsr.bike if you have any questions about volunteering.

Housing hosts are needed to provide accommodations for pro team riders that are racing in the SDSR.  Hosting one or more riders is a great way to become acquainted with professional cyclists. More information about host housing is available in a PDF document posted at  http://sdsr.bike/host-housing-program/file.html   Email our Host Housing Coordinator at HostHousing@sdsr.bike if you are interested in being a housing host.

Friday Happenings

Just when you think you know what might be happening on the road, life happens. A controlled burn near Tanbark. Los Angeles Unified School District Bus Training. Someone riding on the wrong side of the yellow line. Leading to heart pounding moments. Hightailing it squirrels and a slithering lizard. Lots happening on a busy Friday.
